"come in my house i want to hurt you!" was part of a group show at Dance@DMCA. This short-form work shares the beginning exploration of what later became the work Solo which premiered in its full-length realization the following year.

Maria Hassabi’s “come in my house I want to hurt you!” continued her exploration of the female body as moving sculpture, objectified yet powerful. She spent much of this restless solo lying on a small Oriental rug (which brings up different connotations of the exotic other), pushing her slender body into extreme poses, her legs spread wide and face often hidden from the lights’ glare and the audience’s steady gaze.
